Following the Xmas do, the third team convened at Epsom College with a slightly higher hangover coefficient than usual. Early on, it may have shown as Nomads’ experienced line-up jumped out to a 5-0 lead. We finally got our radar in working order with three long shots to pull within 5-3 but Nomads scored again to give them a 6-3 lead at half-time.
Unfortunately, Nomads scored twice at the beginning of the second half and that was it really. We kept plugging away and scored four more but we never got close enough to put them under pressure. So the third team’s unbeaten run comes to an end. We lost a bit of composure in the early stages once we had fallen behind which then made things worse. Also, our collecting was a bit of a theory rather than practice and we also missed some close range chances. Credit to Nomads though – they did shoot well.
