It was all change in the fourths this week. Last week's winning team entirely replaced to take on the ever intimidating Woking 2. And take them on they did - demonstrating that there really is a depth of talent across the fourth team.
Ian Townsend made a welcome return to the pitch this week, joined by Catherine Thompson, Ian R and Alison. Ian T and Alison's previous experience playing together brought plenty of chances with Ian starting the scoring with a good distance shot. In the other division Catrin, David, Eliot and Rach made lots of opportunities and in the end that paid off with one of Catrin's stylish shots hitting the basket and from quite a distance too! However, we hadn't been able to tame the Woking attack and we went into half time 4-2 down.
Catrin's first-half goal seemed to have awakened something in Catherine T, she started taking her chances and without much ado started the second half as it was meant to go on. A few substitutions later and Andy and Cat B had joined Catrin's division and were looking dangerous. It wasn't long before Cat B had scored a well deserved goal, then Andy's shot sailed through the korf to bring the score equal with just a few minutes to go. There was screaming from the sidelines, coach Woody had given in to excitement and was leaping around and the fourth team tried desperately to get the ball back in attack to score that winning goal. Despite their best efforts the winning goal didn't come and Supernova 4 drew 5-5, taking 1 point against Woking - no mean feat! Better still, Supernova 4 remain unbeaten in 2012! Long may it continue!
