Match Report: Bec 3 (13) - Supernova 1 (15), 22/01/2012

Last weekend the firsts won by a comprehensive 22-8, but it was harder work this time. Although we were creating loads of chances, our shots weren’t dropping and Bec 3 put in a far more determined performance, with a number of players who hadn’t looked dangerous at all the weekend before suddenly waking up and surprising us. It was always close – although the firsts were ahead for most of the game, the lead was never more than 3.

Mid second-half, a 4-goal run from Bec left us 1 goal...

It was all change in the fourths this week. Last week's winning team entirely replaced to take on the ever intimidating Woking 2. And take them on they did - demonstrating that there really is a depth of talent across the fourth team.

Following the Xmas do, the third team convened at Epsom College with a slightly higher hangover coefficient than usual. Early on, it may have shown as Nomads’ experienced line-up jumped out to a 5-0 lead. We finally got our radar in working order with three long shots to pull within 5-3 but Nomads scored again to give them a 6-3 lead at half-time.

Unfortunately, Nomads scored twice at the beginning of the second half and that was it really. We kept plugging away and scored four more but we...

Match Report: Mitcham 2 (7) - Supernova 1 (18), 27/11/2011

Email Print PDF
After last week’s disappointment in the freezing halls of Score, this week the first team was up against Mitcham 2 at Trinity. It wasn’t a particularly auspicious start to the morning. First an availability misunderstanding between Laurie and Louise led to last minute rejigging of the team and Carole was promoted from the seconds to fill in (and I probably wouldn't have drunk so much at Ian T’s housewarming if I‘d known I’d be in Trinity chasing someone 10 years younger than me rather...
