A stunning second half performance from Supernova saw the first team maintain their 100% start to the season.

Trailing 4-3 at half time, nine Nova goals after half time saw them run out 11-6 winners against Bec 2.

Four Tom Drew strikes, including a stunning long shot, a Rob Wilson hatrick as well as two from Morven and one apiece for Anke, Sian, Ingmar plus a penalty from captain Winn saw Supernova notch up their second win in as many weeks.

The last five goals went unanswered as Bec struggled to keep up with the visitors’ attacking play.

Perhaps the most pleasing aspect of the win was the quality of the defence, which frustrated the hosts on a regular basis.

In fact, there were no goals in the opening five minutes as both sides kept it tight. Some excellent Supernova switching, particularly from Eiti and Sian, meant that the opposition attack was consistently foiled.

Although Supernova did fall behind, they hit back quickly with a fine finish from Morven followed soon after by the first of two pinpoint penalties from Tom Drew.

Bec hit back with three goals in quick succession and, despite a runner from Drew, the hosts led at the break.

Supernova looked like a different side after half time and soon moved from 5-4 down to 8-5 in front, thanks largely to a Rob Wilson hat trick, causing mayhem under the post with three turning shots in quick succession.

Although Bec did pull one make to reduce the arrears, the result was never really in doubt after Morven ran her player and Ingmar and Sian sunk long shots.

A penalty from Rob Winn and the longest shot of the match from Mr Drew saw Supernova double their opponents tally, making it a lucky 13 for the girls and boys in blue.

The result means Supernova are joint top of the London Regional League 1, trailing Trojans 2 on goal difference alone.

The margin of victory means their opponents Bec 2 are languishing at the foot of the table following back-to-back-defeats.
