Supernova’s second team suffered back-to-back defeats for the first time since November 2014 as they lost by two goals away at Croydon 3.
A low-scoring first have yielded just five goals, four of them for the home side, with captain Eiti the only Supernova scorer when she equalised with a runner.
Three substitutions at half time could not stop the visitors falling further behind, with substitute John’s long shot providing some solace as Croydon extended their lead to 9-2.
However, the changes soon started to bear fruit as Femke scored following Matt’s goal and Neil scored the goal of the game from very close to halfway line to make it 9-5. And boy did he enjoy it.
A missed penalty followed a sustained period of pressure on the Croydon post and Matt scored twice more to complete a hatrick as Supernova brought it back to 9-7 but the hosts held out.
Supernova 2, who have the second leanest defence in the division, now trail top-of-the-table Bromley by eight points but have three games in hand. Croydon remain in third.
