Sunday 25th January 2015, Graveney School
Report by Harry Low
Supernova’s second team lost for the first time in seven matches in their first fixture of 2015 at Graveney.
Indeed Bec were the last team to beat the seconds, way back at the start of November, and they started strongly, moving ahead twice with early goals.
On both occasions, Supernova responded with an equaliser, first with a smart drop off from captain Ross followed by a penalty from Harry to make it 2-2.
The rest of the half was shaded by Bec, whose long shooting was superior although Simon showed he could mix it with the long rangers with a fine effort from distance. He also nipped in under the post to grab another but Supernova trailed 8-4 at half time.
After the break, Supernova’s attacking play improved vastly and Zoe sunk a super effort from close to the right touchline to briefly bring Supernova back into the game.
Matt registered his first goal of the new year, Ross and Harry scored their second goals and Simon rounded of a richly deserved hat trick, but Bec were always ahead despite the visitors winning the second half 6-5.
It means Bec have done the double after winning the corresponding fixture 13-6 and sit top of LRL Division 2 after winning nine out of nine. Supernova 2 remain third, three points behind second placed Croydon.
