Supernova’s second team suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 15-9 to Bromley 1 at Millwall.
Bromley raced into a two goal lead as their talismanic number 30 scored twice. He would go on to score seven in total throughout the match.
Pippa M, making her maiden appearance for the second team this season, popped up to reduce the deficit before Bromley made it 3-1. Captain SMackie pulled one back, but Bromley extended their lead before Neil sunk a beauty from range to make it 7-3 at half time.
Supernova came close to winning the second half but not the contest as a whole. Pippa and SMackie scored their second goals of the afternoon before another surge from the visitors left the score-line at 11-5.
Substitute Ross sunk a lovely long shot for his second goal of the season, before goals from debutant Jenny McGuckian and your correspondent reduced the arrears to make it 12-8, offering hope of a late surge from the home side.
Alas, it wasn’t to be. A missed penalty and three more goals for Bromley meant that Eiti’s delightful runner was a mere consolation.
The result means both of these sides, along with Highbury 2 and Croydon 3, have lost one London Regional League match so far this season making it all to play for ahead of the festive run-in.
