Sunday 14th December at Millwall
Report by Harry Low
Supernova’s second team scored two seconds from time to complete a cracking comeback as they secured a 9-8 win in a ding dong local derby against Highbury 2.

Despite finding themselves 2-0 down within minutes of throw off, Supernova gradually nudged themselves in front. A hatrick from Matt Forster, following super work under the post, and the Gordhouses, combined with some excellent defending thereafter, saw the hosts leading 5-4 at the break.

Although Supernova were immediately pegged back to 5-5 after half time, they went in front again with captain Simon Mackie’s free pass before Highbury upped their game a gear to lead 8-6 with little more than 5 to play.

Matt scored a fine fourth & Moorhorse trotted in under the radar to bag an equaliser leaving all to play for.

And so to the final moments; a heroic Highbury blam was greeted with cheers from the sidelines only to be silenced by the sounds of Supernova’s supporters after Harry Low popped the loose ball into the korf before referee Jamie’s whistle sounded.

A word also to our potentially record-breaking substitute. It is being reported in some quarters that Neil Kempston has broken a new club record in this match following his (incredibly brief) introduction. He entered the court immediately after the winning goal, which makes his 2 second appearance the shortest in Supernova history. We salute you Neil!
