Sunday 15th February 2015, Millwall

Report by Harry Low

Supernova returned to winning ways with a victory over Bec 4 at Millwall on Sunday.

80% of the goals were scored by players called Pippa or Ross and it was those three Bolton, Messenger (who shall henceforth be referred to as Middleton) and Davidson who put the home side 3-0 to the good.

A goal from Bec only sought to re-energise the hosts who scored another three, two more for Ross and one for your correspondent, before Bec completed the first half scoring on the stroke of half time to make it 6-2.

In the second half, Bolton scored either side of two Bec long shots and the visitors sensed an upset at 7-4. However, Middleton put that notion to bed with her second of the afternoon before Ross scored his fourth from the penalty spot. Substitute Joep then chipped in with a goal before Bec scored the final goal of the second half to make it 10-5 shortly before Eiti’s final whistle sounded.

It’s fair to say the seconds were not at their best but team sources say they are saving their best for the showdown with the third team this Sunday.

A list of leaked rules for second teamers appeared on the Daily Snail website earlier. Among them were instructions to “drink only from sealed bottles” and “not to engage the opposition in eye contact”.

There are unconfirmed reports the second team has also been banned from eating Aero bars and having physical contact with anyone born in February ahead of Sunday’s fixture.
