Supernova’s second team recorded their first win of the season by beating Highbury’s second team 12-8 in Millwall.

Hosts Highbury found themselves on the back foot early on in the match thanks so some determined defending and accurate passing from Supernova.

However, Highbury raced into a 4-2 lead thanks largely to a couple of well-taken penalties.

By half time the visitors, playing on home soil in a situation reminiscent of AC Milan travelling to the San Siro for an away match against Inter, had nudged themselves in front, to lead 7-5.

In truth, it was difficult to keep up with the scoring at stages as a few flurries of goals saw Supernova race 11-5 in front.

Goals generally came from long range as Supernova worked the ball round the court to good effect with recycling of the ball being particularly impressive.

In a break from tradition, it would not seem appropriate to single any one player out for particular praise.

The result means Supernova 2 move level on points with Highbury 2 in fourth but remain six points behind joint leaders Bec 3 and Woking 1 following three defeats in their opening matches.
